After being here for so long, I’m finally writing something in this space.
Since I moved to Ireland almost twelve years ago, it feels like I’ve been running at full speed without a break. I’ve taken some lovely holiday trips, some with good friends, but my mind was always on and the breaks were too short.
Meditation helps me deal with stress, but I thought I needed a real break, a long one, to spend only with my wife.
I ended up getting an extended leave and won’t be working until November.
Until now, my plan has failed because life has happened. The stress I’m feeling isn’t just work-related, so the leave is helping but only partially. I need to manage a lot of other personal stuff I won’t share on the internet.
From next week, I’ll be travelling on the longest trip I’ve ever been on, and I expect it to be the start of our relaxation.
